Description

Following years of anticipation, the Whitney Museum's downtown location opened to much celebration in 2015. Designed by Renzo Piano, the building anchors the southern reaches of the High Line and provides 63,000 sq ft of space for the museum's expansive collection of American art. Inside the luminous galleries, visitors will find works from celebrated American greats such as Edward Hopper, Jasper Johns, Georgia O’Keeffe and Mark Rothko. Moreover, the Whitney places a special emphasis on the work of living artists, creating a unique experience for all museumgoers.
