Description
Discover the beauty of the New York Botanical Garden, a 250-acre expanse of prime, green real estate surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the city. Founded in 1891, it is home to 50 acres of old-growth forest, lush gardens, ornate greenhouses, and water features. The landscaping was inspired by the grand public gardens of Europe, featuring Renaissance-style buildings, such as the iconic Enid A Haupt Conservatory, which has been a fixture since 1902. Also of note is the LuEsther T Mertz Library, America’s largest botanical library, built in 1899. Visitors can enjoy classes, themed walking tours, art installations, exhibitions, film screenings, and the annual Holiday Train Show.
