Description
The art and culture of Tibet and the Himalayas
The Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art was established in 1945 by Jacques Marchais (1887-1948), expert and collector of Tibetan art. The buildings hosting the museum were designed by Marchais herself, and are the first Himalayan style edifices to be built in the United States.
The Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art itself was the first museum in the world solely devoted to Tibetan art. The museum is surrounded by a beautiful garden, with pond and meditation cells, further enriching your experience at the museum.
