Description
Charming corner of Central Park
"Meer" being Dutch for "Lake," Harlem Meer is a cozy area of the famed Central Park. Located in the North east section of the city park, Harlem Meer was added to the park some years ago. Its north shore houses the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, adding to the park's structures.
If you happen upon Harlem Meer at the right time of year, you'll be able to enjoy one of the many performances at its Festivals. May through September are the months typical of the park's Festivals. Take the kids up to Harlem Meer to visit some of the ducks, which are protected in this park's environment.
