Description
Brooklyn Botanic Garden, established in 1911, has become a must-see landmark of the borough. Spanning over 52 acres of land, this garden is home to a variety of plant life and trees, including a Japanese garden where river turtles can be seen swimming alongside a traditional Shinto shrine. For the best experience, plan your visit during late April or early May, when the blooming cherry trees, a gift from Japan, are celebrated during Sakura Matsuri (the Cherry-Blossom Festival), or in the fall, when the deciduous trees fill the garden with a colorful array of reds, oranges, and yellows.
