New York: Harlem tour and Sunday Gospel Mass

The Route: Discover Harlem: We will begin our tour by strolling through the vibrant streets of Harlem, a neighborhood that has given birth to some of the greatest jazz, blues, and hip-hop artists of all time. As we walk, you will be fascinated by Harlem's powerful murals — vivid and monumental works of art that bring the history of the neighborhood to life. These striking images pay tribute to cultural icons, social movements and everyday heroes, transforming the walls into open-air galleries that speak to the soul of the community. Each mural tells a story of pride, struggle, triumph, and creativity. Along our route, we will also stop at the legendary Apollo Theater, one of the world's most iconic music venues. Known as a launching pad for stars such as Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown, and Lauryn Hill, the Apollo is a beacon of Harlem's artistic legacy. We will visit its famous façade and discover the stories of the artists and events that have made this theater a global cultural landmark. You'll feel the heartbeat of Harlem beneath your feet as you explore a neighborhood that was the center of the Black Renaissance and still pulsates with vibrant energy today. Coffee break: We will take a break at one of Harlem's most popular cafés. This place offers a unique atmosphere where you can relax, enjoy a hot drink, and soak up the authentic vibe of the neighborhood, surrounded by historic architecture and the people of Harlem. (Food and beverages are optional and not included in the tour price.) Gospel church service: After taking in the atmosphere of Harlem, we will immerse ourselves in the uplifting sounds of gospel music during a traditional Sunday church service. This unforgettable experience will immerse you in the passion and power of the gospel choirs, whose raised voices fill the church with spiritual energy and joy. Get ready to be carried away by the rhythm and emotion of this unique moment. Sylvia's Soul Kitchen (optional): The tour ends in front of Sylvia's, an icon of Harlem's soul food. Here you can enjoy traditional Southern US dishes, from fried chicken to fish and flavorful homemade side dishes. (Those wishing to have lunch at the restaurant are advised to book in advance independently). Tour Details: • The tour is conducted on foot and by subway, to experience Harlem like a true local. The cost of the subway is not included in the tour price. Make sure you have a MetroCard or a contactless payment method (such as a credit/debit card or smartphone) to access the subway.
